Program Description
During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Hot Springs was the therapeutic destination of choice for many Americans struggling with syphilis. Why did they come here, what were their experiences like, and how did their health-seeking behaviors impact life and society in this central Arkansas town?
This program is part of the collaborative series between Garland County Library and Hot Springs National Park, and can be attended in-person or watched via livestream on the Library’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/GarlandCoLibrary or the Garland County Library Facebook page.
