Join the library's True Crime Book Club for an exploration into the captivating and often unsettling world of real-life crimes. We'll delve into a variety of true crime narratives, from infamous cases and unsolved mysteries to in-depth investigations and survivor stories.
For over forty years, the Golden State Killer was a shadow that haunted California, moving from a "ransacker" to a serial rapist and murderer. In this definitive account, Sacramento District Attorney Thien Ho provides the "missing third act" of this legendary case: the investigation, the capture via investigative genetic genealogy, and the high-stakes prosecution. We will discuss how a team of dedicated professionals used DNA from 1980 to catch a killer in 2018, while exploring Ho's own inspiring journey from a Vietnamese refugee to the man who put Joseph DeAngelo behind bars.
True Crime Book Club meets the first Saturday every other month. Copies of each selection are available for checkout at the library.
