Program Description

Ready to explore new worlds and perspectives without leaving town?

Join the Have Book, Will Travel adult book club at the library! We're a friendly and enthusiastic group of readers who love to embark on literary adventures across a diverse landscape of genres and themes. From thrilling mysteries and thought-provoking historical fiction to heartwarming contemporary stories and insightful memoirs, our selections will take us on journeys both real and imagined.

Join us for a discussion of Erskine Caldwell's stark and controversial novel, Tobacco Road. Set in the rural South during the Great Depression, this unflinching portrayal follows the Lester family, impoverished white sharecroppers clinging to a dilapidated farm.

Through Caldwell's unflinching gaze, we will confront the harsh realities of poverty, ignorance, and social decay in the American South.

Have Book, Will Travel meets the first Saturday every other month. Copies of Tobacco Road are available for checkout at the library.
