Program Description

Notes & Requirements

Rules:
1. The talent show starts at 6pm sharp. Contestants should arrive no later than 5:45 to check in.
2. You must bring your own equipment, costumes, and props. The library will provide a microphone, and you can plug a phone into our sound system if you wish.
3. Your time limit is 5 minutes, with 2 minutes allowed between competitors to set up on the stage.
4. This talent show is for solo performers, but you are allowed an assistant for things such as handing you props, starting your music tracks, volunteering for a magic trick, etc.
5. While this is an event for adult contestants aged 18+, the audience may be any age group. Therefore, we ask that subject matter be appropriate in content for a family audience. However, the library is not responsible for contestant content. Therefore, parental discretion is advised for spectators.
6. Potentially dangerous talents are prohibited. Talents involving flames, sharp objects, etc. will not be permitted.
7. Judges will consist of library staff members, who will consider several points of criteria: originality, stage presence, technique, and Wow Factor.
8. Judges reserve the right to disqualify contestants who break any of the above rules.

The library is granted license to record contestants at the talent show and use any likenesses, footage, video, or photographs of contestants from the event, with no claim for compensation from this.
