Program Description
Greetings, all you boils, ghouls, and non-boo-nary folks! If you've ever wanted to dip your toe into the murky waters of horror movies but didn't know where to start, this program series is for you - though seasoned horror hounds are welcome as well, of course! Each week in October, we'll be showing a different landmark horror film along with a brief presentation about that movie and its place in the horror canon. Popcorn, snacks, and drinks will be provided!
This week, we're highlighting modern horror with a movie released this very year! Compared to most horror movies of the past, modern horror often features social commentary or explorations of grief, injustice, and other meatier concepts - but that doesn't mean they aren't still a good time! This particular movie manages to explore toxic and controlling relationships to a terrifying degree... while also coming dangerously close to being a horror-comedy.
